The day has finally come! "The Blood Mirror" is here!
As of today, Brent Weeks' best selling Lightbringer series continues with the 4th installment. You know I'm reading this one!

A Complex Fantasy World
At around 20 hours listening time, these books aren't short reads. And for good reason. Weeks has created a complex world with equally intricate characters. Here's a breakdown of how it works:
Pre-industrial world where magic exists
Certain people (drafters) can have power to manipulate color and yield a substance called Luxin. Some can only wield one color, others 2, and a rare few more than that.
One person per generation can manipulate all the colors. They are known as "The Prism" and they have a lot of influence.
Drafting isn't unlimited: you go crazy if you do it too much.
The world hangs in a delicate balance. Someone is always trying to take over.
Love stories will drive you nuts.
The current prism is hiding his twin brother (who could have also been the Prism) in a dungeon...until he's not.
It gets crazier, but you get the basics.
The last book ended with a cliff hanger. Like, no one is in a happy situation at all. I can't wait to listen to the next one.
Audiobooks
The first three books: "The Black Prism", "The Blinding Knife", and "The Broken Eye" are now all narrated by Simon Vance, who is absolutely perfect for the series. There is also a recording of "The Black Prism" narrated by Cristofer Jean, and it's just not good. When you have a dignified, almost royal character like the Prism, they really shouldn't have a surfer dude accent.
