Some people know exactly who they are at a very young age, and George is one of them. Go George!
I feel extremely under-equipped to write this review, but the book is sticking with me in a way that I can't ignore. This review might not come from a well educated of experienced place, but it is fueled by a greater understanding and the desire to learn more.
"George" is an older children's book told from the perspective of a transgender child. Main character George is physically male, but has always identified as a female. This story tackles tough topics, but is told simply and is easy to understand.
I've never read anything from a transgender perspective, and this book opened my eyes to it. George has a heavy burden to shoulder and the reminder of her not falling into the currently accepted conventions of gender.
I read this book as part of the Book Riot Read Header Challenge, and I'm glad I did. I look forward to reader more books like it!
Audiobook
Good quick listen. Good narrator.
