Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine

Oh C'mon! If this title makes any kind of statement, it's that Eleanor Oliphant is not at all fine. We can see through the title, just like we can see through her weirdness. Just five pages in, I knew:

1. This girl has an ugly past

2. This past messed her up, both physically and emotionally

3. She's a weirdo. (I never identified with her extremely eccentric behavior, but i enjoyed walking beside her as her story unfolded.)

This book is about the things that lie beneath the surface. It's about the issues that torture us while defining our identity. Most importantly, it's about not soldiering through on your own. Be prepared to feel with this one. Eleanor intrigues you with her severe personality and then tantalizes you and draws you in more and more.

Favorite Part:

Whenever Eleanor says something weird and totally halts all social interaction.
