I don't often superfan an author, but since I cannot get enough Kristen Ashley, I'm forever etching her as an entry on my blog. Her fun romance novels have changed the way I look at love and life and self esteem.
My KA anniversary is coming up, and I'm debating about my method of celebration. After a BFF planted the seed, I succombed to the stress of prepping for my annual 4th of July party by downloading (what I thought) would be a silly romance novel. What I found was a wild and compelling love story in "Ride Steady", the 4th book in the "Chaos" series.
27 books later, I've met all the Rock Chicks, joined a motorcycle club, explored the Colorado mountains, and discovered the magic of genies and dragons and parallel worlds. If I can tear myself away from the "Fantasyland" series, I look forward to devouring the rest of them. At 27 books per year, I'll still have a few anniversaries before I'm done.
Paper BFFs
Kristen Ashley's characters are fun and accessible. Wach taps into a part of who I am, and also a part of who I want to be. She brings to light that part of my soul that hides in the corner, just wanting to be loved.
Steam Factor
For the more conservative, her scenes can get extremely steamy and detailed. If you don't mind some down-and-dirty bedroom antics, she also gives background and depth and purpose to her characters.
So, thank you Kristen Ashley for all of your books. Thank you for being you, and thank you for coming out with multiple books a year. They are the life blood of my reading. Do more events in Phoenix because I'll be at all of them.
